I’m so furious about this that I’m blogging direct from my phone.
I got an email at ‘theviewfrommykindle’ and at this blog saying that if I didn’t retract the review of (book) that they would post a retaliatory one star review on *everything* I ever publish.
Extortion is wrong – but the way I look at it – if this author does this, I can send the email onto the review sites to let them know.
My advice? If an author tries to extort you, keep the emails and inform the ‘official’ organisation if they carry through.
Kai is a writer, author and avid reader. A mental health advocate, Ludosport athlete and coder. She’s the mother of two young adults, owned by two cats, and lives with her beloved in the Cotswolds.
Interesting – the books that had been submitted to us are now showing as ‘no longer available’.
Wow… just… wow….
@Valerie Yeah – some people wanna play dirty.
Let them – it’s them that look stupid if they do.
That is unbelievable, I hope you didn’t retract.
@Chris Can’t publish the review as can’t link back to the book. So there’s no point. The author could just change the name and change the book title, and just publish it again. I’m watching though. I know enough about the book to spot it if it comes back up again.
What? This is ridiculous. Whoever the writer is should quit the games and learn to write better so reviewers can legitimately give him/her the review he/she thinks he/she deserves.
