{misc} - where my planning got me

I’ve spent the last few days thinking about what I’m doing with my life in the next few years.
I’m about to hit my big ‘planning for my five year project’ stage. Last five years was all about websites and servers - which I’ve managed in spades. I wanted to be more successful than I am for some things, but I’ve done a lot of things that I’m proud of too.

So, I’m now looking at what I want to do in the next five years - and my biggest thing is to finish some books, and let my writing evolve more. I want my degree, and my MA. I want to be able to give serious thought to a PHD and getting on the right track to lecturing.
I want to work online less - so my sites are slowly being compressed down, but at the same time, I don’t think I’m going to continue deleting domains - I’m at a place now where I think I’ve got it almost sussed. There’s still 200 of them, but lots of them belong to books.

I want to do some things with my family too - it would be nice to find a way to put enough money away for a deposit on a house. Failing that, I’d like to at least know where we’re going to be until the kids leave high school, and whether we’re starting the second segment of our family in the near future - I’d like to think that we are going to have more children eventually, but it’s a long term issue, I guess that we’ll have to talk about.

And finally….

Books.
That’s the most important thing to me - I’ve given in fighting it - so this is what I’m going with. Uni, study, books, blogs, websites. In that order.
Speaking of which, I have two books to read in the next four weeks, and three presentations to prepare - so the next four days I’m going to be writing and designing presentations - if I make a start now, it’ll be better in the long run.
